Quick answer: To make docket or bill text bigger or smaller, log in to Nomni Console, go to Print Settings > Printing Templates, open the template and change the size word in the tags around that line (for example font-extra-large to font-regular). Click Save, then on the Master POS go to Settings > Sync, tap SYNC RECEIPT TEMPLATES FROM BACKEND (or MASTER SYNC) and print a test.

Printing Templates

Go to Print Settings > Printing Templates to see what your printers can print.

Note: Don't forget that whenever you change a printing template, you will need to sync printing templates on Nomni POS to apply the changes.

To edit the Order Bill template in Nomni, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Nomni Console.

  2. Go to Print Settings > Printing Templates.

  3. Select the template with the subject "Order Bill."

  4. Edit the text fields as needed, including the bottom text, directly within the template editor.

Make docket or bill text bigger or smaller

  1. Log in to Nomni Console and go to Print Settings > Printing Templates.

  2. Open the template you want to change, for example Order Docket (kitchen) or Order Bill (customer bill).

  3. Find the line you want to change. Text sits between an opening and a closing size tag, for example <font-extra-large>[order_num]</font-extra-large>.

  4. Change the size word in both the opening and closing tag. From smallest to largest: font-small, font-regular, font-medium, font-large, font-extra-large, font-giant. For example, change <font-extra-large> and </font-extra-large> to <font-regular> and </font-regular>.

  5. Click Save.

  6. On the Master POS iPad, go to Settings > Sync and tap SYNC RECEIPT TEMPLATES FROM BACKEND (or MASTER SYNC). On Nomni POS for Android, run a Master Sync.

  7. Print a test docket or bill to check the size.

Tips: keep different sizes on separate lines, because Nomni POS on Android uses one size for the whole line. If the text is still the old size after syncing, check you changed both tags and saved the right template.

Key placeholders

You can find a list of placeholders underneath the printing template.

Here are some key placeholders you should know:

  • Customer name [customer_name]

  • Order number [order_num]

  • Order source (i.e. POS, Online Ordering) [device_source]

  • Giant font <font-giant> Your text here </font-giant>

  • Extra large font <font-extra-large> Your text here </font-extra-large>

  • Large font <font-large> Your text here </font-large>

  • Medium font <font-medium> Your text here </font-medium>

  • Regular font <font-regular> Your text here </font-regular>

  • Small font <font-small> Your text here </font-small>

Label Customization and Limitations

While Nomni provides flexibility in customizing templates, there are some limitations regarding label customization, particularly on Android POS devices:

  • The label "Promo/Voucher" on Android bill printouts cannot be changed to "Discount" or any other term. This label is fixed and cannot be adjusted on Android POS.

  • On iOS devices, the label may display as "Discount," but this functionality is not mirrored on Android.
