How to add a customer's first name, balance or tier to your text in Nomni App and Studio

Use Personalise in the text editor to add a customer's details, a time greeting, the day or a link parameter.

Quick answer: Click the text in Studio, click Personalise on the formatting bar, and pick First name, Balance or Tier. Set what shows if there's nothing to show, then click Insert.

Where this works

Text items and the loyalty welcome message, including the Rewards headline.

Steps

  1. Open your page in Nomni App and Studio.

  2. In Studio, click the text you want to change. A formatting bar shows above it.

  3. Put your cursor where the detail should go.

  4. Click Personalise.

  5. Pick one: under Customer, First name, Balance or Tier. Under Time, Time greeting or Day. Under Link, Link parameter… to show a word from your link, like ?promo=spring.

  6. If asked, fill in If there's nothing to show, for example "there" for guests. Leave it empty to hide it.

  7. Click Insert.

  8. Check the preview, then click Publish.

What you should see: A chip in your text, like First name. The preview shows a real example, like Jack. If a field has nothing to show and no fallback, it drops out with the comma or space before it, so a guest sees "Good morning!".

Change or remove a detail

  1. Click the chip in your text.

  2. Change the fallback and click Done, or click Remove.

What if it doesn't work?

  • I don't see Personalise. Click inside the text to start editing. Personalise isn't available on tile labels or the sticky button yet.

  • The time greeting is wrong. It uses the time on the diner's phone: Good morning until 12, Good afternoon until 5, then Good evening.

  • A guest sees an odd gap. Add a fallback under If there's nothing to show.
